Intern's Day: IT sector is one of the most hiring students

Published by Marketing Mkt on

Celebrated on August 18, the Intern's Day seeks to raise awareness of the rights and duties that involve this working relationship, governed by law 11,788/2008. More and more students find their first professional opportunity in the internship, and the offer continues to grow: according to the Center for Company-School Integration (CIEE) in Paraíba, the number of internship vacancies grew by 24% in 2021 compared to the year past.

The Information Technology (IT) area is one of the most promising for students. The CIEE survey revealed that it ranked sixth among the ten areas with the most vacancies in the first half of this year. In addition, a survey by the Brazilian Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies estimated that the IT market should demand more than 70 thousand new jobs in the country in 2021, with the expectation of a recovery of the economy, and more than 420 thousand people until 2024.

The moment is, therefore, propitious for the students of the area. This is the case of Lucas Feitosa, 26, who started his career as an intern at Lieno Technology, in João Pessoa, and today works in a large company in Florianópolis (SC). “I joined Lieno in 2018 and in a short time I learned what kind of professional I wanted to be. I was hired after the internship ended and I saw my efforts being rewarded. I was able to participate in a sensational team, where my growth was exponential”, says Lucas.

According to Jonas Ieno, CEO of Lieno Tecnologia, hiring interns enriches the work environment. “We adopted this culture in the company and about 80% of the interns were hired, evolved and learned with us, in an exchange of knowledge, experience and results”, he says.
